waitressobryansWeekend Update! Looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway? Or do you live in this area and are looking for entertainment close by? Check out the endless possibilities for fun events happening this upcoming weekend in Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana.

The Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette presents “Bus Stop” this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (January 24-26)!  This play takes guests to the middle of a howling snowstorm where a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a cheerful roadside diner.  All roads are blocked, and four or five weary travelers are going to have to hole up until morning.  Cherie, a nightclub Chanteuse in a sparkling gown and a seedy fur-trimmed jacket, is the passenger with the most to worry about.  She’s been pursued and kidnapped by a twenty-one-year-old cowboy with a ranch of his own and romantic methods of a headstrong bull.  The belligerent cowhand is right behind her, ready to sling her over his shoulder and carry her, alive and kicking, all the way to Montana.  Even as she is ducking out from his clumsy embraces, she muses “Somehow deep inside of me, I got a funny feeling I’m gonna end up in Montana…”  Other stories abound in this classic “Slice of life” play is a romantic and funny portrayal of Mid-Western life, mid-twentieth century.

Music abounds at Nine Irish Brothers this weekend!  On Friday, January 24, Highland Reign performs at Nine Irish Brothers in Lafayette for a night of excellence in Celtic rock!  This trio of lads from Indianapolis is talented and energetic. On the same evening in West Lafayette, enjoy traditional Irish music with Traveler’s Dream, a folk trio based in Lafayette, Indiana.  Traveler’s Dream plays music that is rich in tradition but driven by innovation and creativity. Don’t miss at the Nine Irish Brothers in West Lafayette on Saturday, January 25, the upbeat Celtic rock from Two2Many!  Two2Many is a convergence of old and new; talented musicians from previous bands combining with a fresh young voice that not only perform classic pieces but add humor and fun to the event.

Easter is early this year (March 31) and in celebration the Easter Bunny is coming to Best Western & Buccaneer Bay on Saturday, March 23. Saturday evening enjoy a night of music at Elliott Hall of Music during the “Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, with Allen Stone” performance.  This duo from Seattle has emerged as a premier national hip-hop group known for their electrifying live show, expertly crafted music, and innovative music videos and media. Singer and songwriter Allen Stone describes himself as “a hippie with soul,” and his music reflects both sides of this formula: his vocals and melodic style show the clear influence of classic soul and R&B of the 1960s and ’70s, while his lyrics reveal an idealism and passion that recall the folk-inspired singer/songwriters of the same era.
