  • Holiday Tours at the Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art is a special treat that you won’t soon forget. (December 5-9) A Christmas train traveling through several rooms, decorated with Dickens Villages is a favorite feature for both kids and adults.  A gingerbread-style playhouse and multiple animated figures invite kids to participate. Decorated trees, Santas, angels, nativities, Lafayette houses and Dickens villages fill the Museum and spread the Christmas spirit.
  • Enjoy a candy cane tour at McCord Candies!  Make your very own candy cane on December 7, 8 & 9.
  • A night of dance and magic is taking place on December 7 & 8 during the Purdue Contemporary Company’s Winter Works.
  • Every year when the holiday season is near, you can expect an outstanding show from the Lafayette Jefferson Choral Department. The Holiday Show showcases all six choirs in the department. It is taking place December 7, 8 & 9.
  • 14 life-size outdoor scenes involving a cast of hundreds bring to life the significance of the baby in the manger at Faith Church.  The “Living Nativity” will take place on December 7, 8 & 9. You can either walk or drive through the nativity.
  • On Saturday, December 8, Purdue Bands and Orchestras present Tuba Christmas and Holiday Cheer & All That Jazz.  This holiday favorite concert is a must see! Continuing the tradition started by Harvey Philips in 1974 to honor his teacher and mentor William Bell, who was born on Christmas Day, over 80 musicians will perform holiday favorites on low brass instruments. This concert is a campus-community partnership inviting low brass performers from the community to play alongside student musicians with euphoniums, sousaphones, and of course, tubas. Don’t miss this unique holiday experience!
  • Bring the kids to enjoy “Breakfast with Santa” at the Purdue Memorial Union on Saturday, December 8. Breakfast with Santa is the perfect event for celebrating Christmas with children and families! Visits with Santa are free. The breakfast, sponsored by Pappy’s, will occur at the same time in the Union South Ballroom.  Do not miss checking out the giant Purdue Christmas tree!

  • Skate with Santa will be held on December 8. Santa invites you and your parents to come out for a fun-filled morning.  You will enjoy donuts, hot cocoa, and skate with the jolly old elf himself!  This will be a great photo opportunity, so make sure to bring your camera!  To really enjoy this event, it’s recommended that children be of appropriate skating age and size.  Reservations are required.
  • Carnahan Hall Presents: Holiday Soiree on December 8. Holiday Soirée will have shopping options from local and surrounding boutiques which include: My Little Corner Boutique, Boutique LoriAnn, B Boutique, Urban Chique Boutique, and Whiskey Rose Boutique!
  • Come shop on December 8 with your favorite local vendors & artisans at the Holiday Market & Pancakes with Santa at Dayton Elementary School! Awesome gifts and stocking stuffers, perfect for gift exchanges, co-workers, friends & family.

  • Friends of Downtown presents “Downtown Dickens & Christmas Village Market” on December 8. Enjoy a day where Downtown is transformed into Victorian England. Throughout the day, there will be live performances by choirs and entertainers, roving carolers, Holiday Farmers Market, hay rides and of course, the Dickens and Victorian street characters announced and directed by town criers and a constable or two! Make sure you take advantage of the many “Dickens specials” by downtown restaurants and merchants.
  • Dickens at Duncan Hall is taking place December 8. The event includes live music, children’s crafts and tours of decorated rooms.
  • Christmas decorations in the 1920s included both handmade and commercially produced paper decorations. Learn how to make crepe paper rosettes and trees, jointed Santas, “snaps” and more at the Gibson Farmhouse on December 9 during “Christmas Traditions Craft Class”.
  • Pizza with Santa Claus at Midtowne Oven. Santa Claus will be taking time out of his very busy schedule to stop by for pizza and fun on Saturday, December 8 from 12pm to 2pm! Midtowne Oven will have some very special Christmas-themed pizzas and fun candy cane shaped garlic dough to celebrate his visit. Grab your camera and bring the kids in for lunch and a great photo that you can cherish for years.

  • The Holiday Makers Market is back at Wea Creek Orchard on December 8, 9, 10.  On Friday, December 8, INMM organizers Traci Bratton and Angela Taylor are giving away
    50 collaborative limited edition candle crocks to the first 50 guests. Food trucks, wine tasting, and artists’ demonstrations on Saturday.  Sunday bring the kids to meet Santa and do crafts.

  • Nearly 40+ artisans and antique vendors will showcase and sell their handmade crafts at the Carnahan Hall Christmas Market Artisan Crafts Show on December 9. The first 100 visitors will receive a mystery bag containing “spendable cash” (up to $25.00). Free parking. Free admission. Pottery, wood, jewelry, knit items, paintings, home decor and more.

  • Red was the popular color choice for Christmas decorations in the 1920’s, but were electric lights or candles used on Christmas trees? Did friends exchange post cards or greeting cards? Visit the Gibson farmhouse at the Farm at Prophetstown to experience a 1920’s Christmas during “Christmas Tradition” on December 10. Learn how to make traditional 1920’s paper decorations and feature them on your tree!

Holiday Musical Weekend Update! Looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway? Or do you live in this area and are looking for entertainment close by? Check out the endless possibilities for fun events happening this upcoming weekend in Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana.

The Holidays will be merry and bright as tenor soloist, Tim King, makes his debut in Lafayette during Holiday Pops. Having performed across the nation with orchestras in a variety of classical and pops venues, this outstanding vocalist, along with our stellar orchestral lineup, will be a delightful way for your and your loved ones to experience the holidays together! Check out this performance by the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra on Friday, December 19.

More holiday cheer is taking place on Saturday, December 20, during the Bach Chorale “Candlelight, Lessons, & Carols”. Celebrate the magic of Christmas as the Bach Chorale Concert and Youth Choruses join the Adult Chorale in singing favorite carols of the season.  Tis’ the season for holiday classics so do not miss this night of fun!
