On August 25th from 10-2pm Tecumseh Junior High’s bus parking lot will be transformed into one of Lafayette’s most beloved family events of the year, Hands on Transportation! You won’t want to miss this year’s event to bring the family to explore vehicles of almost all shapes and sizes as well as the operators of these vehicles. The chance to pull on the horn of a massive off road pit hauler truck to the opportunity to sit in the bed of a monster truck give children a chance to touch things they only see on TV or rolling down the street serving our community. Come out and celebrate the Greater Lafayette area’s marvels of transportation. It is a delight to their staff, the operators of the vehicles and the children and families who visit.

Beers Across the Wabash

Join in the festive fun during Beers Across the Wabash taking place from 3-7pm at the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge on Saturday, August 25. In addition to delicious ales & lagers and one of the finest beer festival settings in the Midwest, general admission includes a commemorative sample cup along with with samples from the presenting breweries. On-site foodservice will also be available for purchase from D&R Catering, Smolder BBQ, Emergency Munchie Truck (EMT) and El Kora.

Weekend Update: Hot Summer Nights Cruise-in & Car Show and Brew on the Bridge

On Saturday, July 30 from 8-3pm head to the 30th Annual Hot Summer Nights Cruise-in & Car Show hosted by Lafayette Kroozers! Special celebrity guests from the movie American Graffiti will be here! Von Hotrod will be offering one free pinstripe, one color for any small item. A special showing of American Graffiti movie will be played Friday night at dark. Don’t miss out, located at Market Square by Arni’s!

Evening plans? Brew on the Bridge is back at Wolf Park on Saturday, July 30 from 7-10pm! Wolf Park is partnering with the People’s Brewery, South Street Smokehouse and the Miller Experience for a special outdoor concert in the park! Alcohol will be provided by People’s Brewery. Alcohol is $5 per pint and you must show I.D. to be served. Don’t drink? No problem! Come out, enjoy some BBQ and listen to some great music under the stars.  Other drinks available for only $1!  The band will perform starting at 7:30 pm. Will the wolves ‘sing’ along? You have to be at Wolf Park to find out!  Bring along your own chairs or blankets to enjoy the musical performance.

Weekend Update! It’s Festival Time in or around Lafayette-West Lafayette! Looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway? Or do you live in this area and are looking for entertainment close by? On Saturday, August 29, head downtown Lafayette for Beers Across the Wabash. Join beer revelers for a fantastic afternoon of sampling craft brews from 30+ of Indiana’s finest small breweries. In addition to delicious ales & lagers and one of the finest beer festival settings in the Midwest, admission includes a commemorative sample cup along with homebrewing information and demonstrations from Tippecanoe Home brewers Circle and Homebrewing Organization of Purdue Students. On-site foodservice will also be available for purchase from D&R Catering; Styx and Stones Wood Fired Pizza and The Lafayette Optimist Club.

Love BACON?! We do! In nearby Carroll County, celebrate pork and the deliciousness of all things bacon at the Indiana Bacon Festival of Carroll County Indiana. The event will be held on the square in Delphi, Indiana, and will feature Indiana Kitchen bacon and brew’s from local breweries. Enjoy live music, a cook-off, and MORE! There will even be a bacon eating contest! (Sign me up!) Bring the kiddos along, as there will be a Kid Zone with games and activities just for kids including kids music with DJ Bill Shidler.12
